If the listing price of your home is too high, it will take longer and it will sell for less money, this is almost guaranteed to happen, be careful listing with agents that tell you that the priced will be reviewed in two weeks and if necessary, they will drop the price down, not a good move.
- The home requires some work – If your house is old and has been neglected, Buyers will pass, as other homes for sale are recently renovated and move in ready. Many Buyers are skeptical to buy homes that they have to renovate before they move in. Investors are willing to do that, but as you know it, investors will not pay you top dollar for your home.

- Your Home is listed with a discount agent – Discount agents don’t market your home, the only thing they do is list your home on MLS or FMLS, the fee they charge you is minimal and almost all the time that fee is paid at front. Agents that get paid a commission are highly motivated to sell your home, they invest their own money marketing your home, if they don’t sell, not only they don’t get paid, they also loose their investment. The Real Estate Commission may sound high, but up to now is the best solution the market has come up with.
- Your Agent is not an experienced listing agent – Real Estate agents have their niche, some are experts in selling homes, some are good working with first time home Buyers, and some are good at listing and marketing properties. To be a listing agents now a days you have be an expert in marketing as well as have the skills and tools to market your home using the latest technology.
