No one enjoys walking into a dark room, flipping on the lights, only to see a few critters scuttle away. For the most part, while it is undesirable to have these pests in your home, many of these little guys are relatively harmless and if not for the occasional surprise, you would never even know they were in your home. As a matter of fact, some of the creepy crawlers that you hate so much can even defend your home against some of the pests that you want to avoid letting in your home, by making a meal of those pests. However you get rid of them, these five pests are definitely characters that you will want to avoid letting into your home.

Quite honestly, bats get a bad rap. These creatures can help control the insect population in your area and since they do their hunting, while the rest of us are sleeping, you may never even have to see them. However, if you have an attic or crawlspace that can be accessed from outside the home, and depending on the region you live in, there is always the possibility that bats will make a home of your home. The problem with this is that bats do tend to carry disease and if you happen to startle a sleeping colony, while grabbing a trunk from the attic, you have a chance of being bit by one of these creatures.

Contrary to popular belief, bed bugs are not limited to homes that are less than clean. In fact, bed bugs can be found pretty much anywhere and they do not care about financial or hygienic status. Once these creatures find their way into your home, it is an absolute nightmare to get rid of them. If you believe you have bed bugs, you need to address the situation immediately or they will quickly become an infestation.
